Is there anyway to disable the ATA-100 controller for my harddrive is only ATA-66? The A7V Bios had a option to turn of the ATA-100 controller but I cant find anywhere to turn it off in the A7V266-E Bois. Any help would be great thanks.:(

1. You cannot disable the ATA100 controller (meaning you can't tell it "I want ATA66 only"..you CAN disable the Promise controller completely though, but then you can't put any devices on it.
2. Why would you want to anyway? (See #3)
3. An ATA100 controller is backwards-compatible, meaning that ATA66 and ATA33 Harddrives will run just fine on them. :)
4. Feel better? Good. :)

Michael D.

The reason is when it boots up it sits on the detect screen for about 10 to 15 seconds looking for a ATA-100 HDD. I would like it to boot without this detection.

When you say you can disable promise controller do you mean the ide controller in the bois which my hdd and cdrom is hooked up to?
