a7v266 & Barton cpu

I am not much of a amd man but my friend has an asus a7v266 motherboard and i was wondering if a barton cpu would work in it. If not what would be a good cpu to add to it. looking for best price to performance ratio. I am sure he dosent want to do any overclocking.

266 = 266mhz FSB. Bartons go at 333mhz. Consider either a 1700+ "B" or 2600+!!

Asus CPU/Motherboard compatibility. No Barton CPUs will work.
