Running A7V133 1.05 w/ BIOS 1007

Installed XP1700 in jumperless mode but was only able to get 1466Mhz

1) Can I get 1700Mhz?

2) Are there DIP switch settings for 13x ? (manual goes to 12.5 / jumperless goes to 13x)

Erm....the Athlon XP 1700+ runs at 1466MHz. It doesn't run at 1700MHz.

Even if you had dip switch settings for multipliers over 13x (which the A7V133 does not have), you need to unlock the processor first.

DUH...

Sorry, I bought an OEM processor with no documentation - spent two hours last night wondering why the sucker would only do 1466.

Thanks

How are you liking the mobo? I have the A7V and I am thinking of picking up the A7V133. It is good to know that XP's can run on it!

I am generally satisfied with the MOBO.

Observations:

It took about a month of fiddling with drivers so that everything would work. The RADEON 64DDR wasn't running at 4x AGP - had frequent lockups. After updating the VIA/ATI/and BIOS everything is solid and fast.

I get steady 85 FPS in UT at 32 bit 1024 x 768 and everything on 10 / also run FS2002 and Tribes 2 with all display options max'd out.

Only better solution would be newer DDR MOBO.
