A7V133 = A-Asus 7-for K7processors..Athlon V-no idea 133- FrontSideBus ??
I'm having a bit of trouble understanding the designation of these letters/numbers. A7V133 being the most popular was the reason why I chose it for my example. Please tell me they all follow the same formula too.

Q#2. I'm thinking of building a computer soon (first attempt) and wondered what would be a good board to start with. I'm thinking I wanna do RAID (haven't decided on which formation) or possibly SMP if it has pratical applicatoins.
1. I'm building it to gain knowledge.
2. I'm building it to be my entertainment system, i.e Mp3 library, movie library (DivX), Graphic rendering, web design purposes, etc.
3. I'm bulding it so I can have another machine networked to my existing one, which is abit slow (600 Athlon, 256pc100/ram, Quantum30GB/ATA33 (Cheap-o-la), WD40GB/ATA100. Unknown Mobo since it's a Compaq OEM.
Now bestow upon me your infinite wisdom ol great ones
