A7v133 reboots and crashes programs randomly

I just bought a new a7v133 and 1ghz tbird. Install was easy and painless. I thought everything was going well until.. Wham, out of no where the system rebooted itself out of the the blue. Further testing revealed that this happened frequently and also I noticed that while running programs it would randomly just quit the program to windows desktop. Here is my loadout.

Newest 4 in 1 drivers (supposedly fixes SBlive issues)
Promise drivers off CD rom with MOBO.
Latest BIOS for mobo 1.004
300 watt Powerman power supply (stock with inwin q500)
Sb Live value
asus 7700 geforce deluxe.
memman mousel vitalic 128 mb memory
HD plugged into primary promise controller, cdrom in via primary ide
stock settings, no overclocking

Ive tried multple reformats and different drivers (including detonator drivers for vid card) and still get the same problem.

HERE ARE MY QUESTIONS:

1. DO I RETURN THIS board with RMA or have I missed something?
2. COULD IT BE THE CPU?
3. DOES THIS MOBO REALLY SUCK DESPITE THE HYPE? (read threads on EPOX BOARD)

thanks for feedback.

Could be either of the following:

* CPU (it dying - might want to check temperatures & such).
* Memory - only way to check is either by running thinks like Sandra (should crash faster) or replacing it (borrow from a friend.
* Bad chipset drivers...? (i.e.: might be an issue with them?) Try other versions if you can - or just don't use them - see if that helps?

Hope some of this helps 🙂.

That happened to me and I determined I was a probably little too rough with the board during install, or it was a defect (Epox 8KTA3). I did an RMA and fixed it right up!

By the way, before I returned it, I e-mailed Epox and they suggested everything that the AnandTech people had. I was impressed with the quick response.
