Finally got my CPU in so I could test the board out. I put it in a spare case I had with a 300W PSU. Put CPU in, booted, everyhitng worked that I could see.

Came back to my room, powered down my main system and prepared to switch mobos and cpus out. This case also has a 300W AMD approved PS, the exact same model as I used above. I toil for an hour or so getting everything looking pimp inside of it. Turn computer on, fans come on, but it NEVER posts.

What I have tried:
-shorting CMOS
-disconnecting battery for min or so
-tried in the computer it worked in, does not work now
-tried different ram, nothin
-tested CPU in another board, it works so it is the mobo
-used jumpers to set speed, nothing

I changed no settings on the mobo, i dont know what could have happened. Perhaps I scratched something, i dont see how though. This really really sucks, I had a $hitty day at work, then this.

Any more ideas? Or should I contact Asus about a RMA?

Wait.. the same model? Why you bothered buying a new one is beyond me, but that pretty much confirms its a busted PSU

Have you tried to put it back on the old PSU, the first you tried?
Does it work?
If it doesnt work contact ASUS for RMA.

Good luck!

that must not have been clear at all. i tried it in the one that it worked in, it does NOT work in that one now.
what kind of hassle am i going to run into from asus, are they going to have to walk me thru how to install it all over again over the phone? and all that. i dont have long distance and ill be using a phone card, so my time will be limited

In the worst case scenario... well I'm thinking it was a faulty PSU and kinda zapped all your stuff and the PSU went down with it...

So I shouldn't use the one PS if I RMA it, that sucks. PS still works with my P3V4X, and it still powers up with the A7V133, but nothing ever comes up on the screen.

My theory is that somehow I managed to scratch a trace or something, or perhaps the infamous static discharge thing. I was not wearing one of those grounding things, I don't know anyone who does
