Man, I sure do post a lotta questions here. ^_^;;;

Since I've gotten my computer back from shop for upgrades about a month and a half ago, I haven't exactly had non-stop problems with it, but the shop DID leave some matters unattended to. For one, they didn't install the patch for KT133 chipset motherboards that boost performance with some IDE devices (particularly a Zip100 drive).

I've actually read some reports at a few places that say the A7V133 motherboard has compatibility issues with Iomega drives. Is this true? I wouldn't be surprised, because this Zip100 drive malfunctions almost constantly... fortunately I don't use it much, so right now it's more of a 'nagging problem' as opposed to a 'serious issue'.

i had so many probs w/ the a7v133 and the internal iomega zip 100 that i just flat out replaced the drive w/ an external USB one...
the stupid drive would get so bad that it would literally crash the win2k boot... after hours and hours of tech support w/ iomega it seemed to work fine but then it came back in a week or so... no matter what i did to have the drive installed "properly" it wouldn't work... the only thing that i can tell you if it works fine don't worry about it...
according to iomega the proper install is in the bios set the drive detection to none... then install the iomega software for windows and it will find the drive for you...
but then again i had the best luck by setting the bios to auto... then not installing the drivers and letting windows use its own...
oh well if you have any other questions lmk

So there ARE compatibility issues with an A7V133... hmm... well, I think I've got it somewhat functioning now, but if it gets worse then maybe I can find a cheap external drive.

Thanks!
