Hey guys

I have a A7V133 with AMD 1.2 processor and a Geforce2 GTS video card. Running Win98SE, my problem is when Im playing CS all of a sudden it locks up, when i press ctrl+alt+del it tells me counterstrike is not responding and asus probe2 is not responding, and the only option i have is to restart. Then when computer restarts i notice that the cpu temperture has gone up about 3 degrees. I dont know if its a heat problem or what??

flashed bios to 1004
updated via driver to 4.29
tried detenator 3 drivers
updated promise ata100 drivers

Any help is greatly appreciated
thank you

does this only occur with games?
what soundcard do you have & is it sharing its irq with any other hardware?

Make sure that your CPU has proper cooling (that the heatsink and fan are working properly and the heatsink is properly mounted with enough pressure).

Apply the Microsoft AGP HotFix (from Microsoft):
Video Hangs When Running 3D Graphics Programs

AMD Registry fix:
AMD Registry Fix

AGP4RegFix:
RegFix

Update your soundcard drivers, check to make sure there isn't any IRQ conflicts - possibly disable ACPI.

i have the same problem when i tried to overclock my computer to its max.. so i think it might be a heat problem..
when i run quake 3.. my temp rises 7c!! counter-strike makes it go up by 3-5c
1.2@1.35(9.5x142) -> games crash sometimes when loading the game, or like 5 mins after the game started
1.2@1.33(10x133) -> cs crashed after about hmm.. 2 hrs
1.2@1.28(9x142) -> stable but still kinda hot
i think i need better cooling

oh yeah.. 1004 drivers increased my mem scores on sandra
via 4in1 4.29 drivers decreased my drives benchmark score in win2000 (im still using 4.24.. works fine for me)
