Hey Guys,
Need a little help getting "things" to detect that I actually do have a 30GB Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 60 HD attached to the Promise RAID/ATA100 controller on my ASUS A7V133 motherboard. My Promise controller properly detects my HD during boot up (running Promise Controller v2.01 build 33)--saying I have the said HD and it correctly detects/sets the HD to DMA 5.
However, I tried to run the Maxtor UDMA utility specifically for the DiamondMax Plus 60 by following the installation instructions to the letter, and the utility failed to recognize that I had a HD at all. This is basically the same problem I get when I try to run a benchmark on my HD (SiSoft Sandra 2001se).
Again, to clarify my question, although the Promise controller detects my ATA 100 HD, the Maxtor utilities nor SiSoft does. Is this a noted side effect for using the Promise controller on a HD? Is my HD actually running at it's "full potential?"
Also, I'm running Win2K SP1 with the ATA100 hotfix installed and the the v4.29 4-in-1 drivers.
Thanks for the help.
