A7V133 and Athlon XP compatible?

I'm getting conflicting info... Can I use an XP on a A7V133? If yes, is there a minimum BIOS version I must use?

Thanks,
David

technically only mobo version 1.005. note the last dot "truly" supports the Athlon XP...however with that said I believe BIOS version 1.007 should fully support the Athlon XP ..but you will need the fsb to 133 by jumper to get to work best for all reports I have seen...I used to own the mobo but when I upgraded to the Athlon XP I went to Abit KR7A-RAID..loved the A7V133 very solid stable board

Thanks for the info. I was just wondering. I have a Soltek and ECS K75SA with Athlon XPs but I just love the A7V133 and don't really want to get rid of it but if it's a hassle to pop a XP in there, I'll have to sell it or pass it down to a friend/relative to use with an Athlon.

Thanks again,
David

I am running my XP 1900+ on the A7V133 motherboard with no problems. By the way, I used the jumper to set the FSB and multiplier.

I've got an XP2000+ on a 1.04 revision board, jumperless mode..... hey don't ask me why.... but it just works! 🙂

You need bios 1007 minimum. The new 1008 release just came out.

I'm running my athlon xp 1500 on my Abit KT7-RAID (kt133) @ 106 x 12.5

so if it works on this motherboard which doesn't officially support XP, and is a kt133 chipset, then for sure it'll work on your a7v133
it'll probably even work on old school a7v, as that board is kt133 like mine (-:
