A7V133 and ATA100?

Ok, I have a A7V133 MOBO and when I boot up, I get an error saying it can't find the ATA100 because it's not installed...What does that mean exactly?

Is my hard drive not plugged into the right port? Will it mess anything up if I move it over there? I don't know much about this kind of stuff.

it means your drive's not plugged into your ATA100 controller. plug it in there. it may fuxor something up, but if you loaded the drivers it should all be good.

load the drivers from what? My ASUS CD or something? I'll try when my new audio card comes in.

yup, the asus cd. unless you did a custom BIOS hack, then you'd have to load the drivers that came with the hack.

Well, I installed the drivers...but I tried hooking my drive to it and it was a no go at boot time...I thought my drive was an Ultra ATA 100...It's a Maxtor 7200 RPM 20 GB drive...is there any way I can check to see what it is? Is ATA 100 that much of an advantage?

ATA100 is not worth it, not going to affect performance.

ya when your booting ull see UDMA5 this means you got a ATA100 hd
i also got a 20gb 7200 rpm on my a7v133 mobo
