A7V with duron 600 wont go past ata100 bios initialization

I just put together a temporary computer with the A7V board. When I turn it on it seems to start booting until the ata100 bios initialization at which everything stops and does not go anywhere. Also when I try to enter the regular bios setup using the del key, all I get is a black screen. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Thank You in advance

Do you have the hard drive on the ata100 channels or the ata66 channels? With this board you have to set up and install Windows on the ata66 side first, install promise drivers and then you can move cable over to the ata100 side. If you can get it to POST with HDD on the ata66 side then you can disable ata100 within BIOS and all should be good. Hope that helps.

ive tried with the hd on both controllers, it doesnt even get to the hard drive seeking stage for boot up it seems to freeze right after looking for the ata100 device. And it wont enter bios setup which I found extremely weird
