Okay, I just got a new setup with an A7V motherboard. Here are the specs:

Asus A7V Motherboard
Duron 750MHz. processor (still locked/not oc'ed)
Heatsink/Fan combo (processor reports 43C, motherboard at 35C)
128MB PC133 CAS3 RAM
10GB Western Digital hard drive
50X Afreey CD-ROM
ATI RagePro 8MB AGP video card
Mitsumi Floppy Drive
10/100 network card
Keyboard and Mouse

In short, the computer does not boot anything that I throw at it. I've tried KLinux floppies, many varieties of Windows floppies downloaded from bootdisk.com, and even an old OS/2 boot disk I had lying around. I have all the voltages set at their defaults, and the boot order is set at Floppy -> Hard Drive -> CD-ROM. The system posts, detects the processor, memory, and all three of my drives, prints a screen showing all the IRQs and device labels for all my devices, then shows "DISK BOOT ERROR. INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER." The only other strange thing is that the floppy drive light comes on at boot and does not turn off, not even when I take the floopy disk out. Anyone have any ideas? I'm inclined to think the floppy drive is bad. Thanks a lot for your help.

I think you may have the floppy cable plugged in the wrong way. Try reversing it either on the floppy drive itself, or on the motherboard connection.. The light is staying on the floppy drive because the cable is not plugged in right..

I have had a bad floppy drive act like a reversed cable. Try the cable first then a different drve, (Might also try a new cable - they do go bad.)
