A7V to a A7V266

I remember an articule in which someone advised to go into the registry and delete some keys that force your system to look for new IDE controllers or chipsets on reboot? Does anyone know about this I'm going from a a7v to a a7vKT266 and I deleted the old IDE (Via) Bus controller now it's stuck on the blinking cursor....Help
