I've got a sb live I was going to use from my other system but all I really need is a half decent nothing special sound card that uses only 1 irq not 2 like the sb live, after reading all the problems people are having with this combo a7v=sb live I,d rather avoid the hassle. Any suggestions from u guys would be appreciated.

I have an old SB PCI64 that still has the old DOS support that takes up resources but does not take up an IRQ. I like it and I was thinking of upgrading to the Live but I just don't think its worth the hassle. Maybe one of the Turtle Beach cards are in my future.

Working fine now with a Yamaha-based (YMF744/754) sound card... Had major problems (freezes, cracking/popping noises) with my old SBLive MP3+ before.

I had static on my sound card but enabling the 15-16 mem hole seems to have taken care of it.
