I do believe it's a 250 Watt power supply but I have no idea about any of the other specs. The little led on the A7V (those who own it know what I mean?) is lit so I suppose at least some power is getting into the board. I checked some official list somewhere and it said the Duron only needed like a 250W power supply, is that right?

I've tried it with only the cpu, mobo, and memory installed and also with everything installed and I get the same thing, nothing.

I've had no record of problems with any of my components, the only things that are brand new are the Duron and the A7V, both which look completely intact, and I looked carefully. I took off the Duron's HSF just to make sure it hadn't crushed or anything. Any clues? I have no other power supplies to swap (only some AT's) but I could check it with a voltometer thing we have. I'm kindof stuck here.

By nothing I mean nothing, no fan movement or noise or anything, just that stupid led, glaring back at me...... yeah, well I'd appreciate any professional diagnosi (diagnosisisiseses?)

I cant offer a professional diagnosis but just some basic computer items to check..sounds like you may have a ground fault..a short to the mobo, either in the form of being shorted to the case, or the start switch or reset button improperly configured to create a short. That is usually the only reason that you would get absolutely nothing. recheck all your power connectors on the board and the board mounting itself to the case and the power connectors to the fans, and other devices.

I checked every and anything I could think of, the only part of it touching the case is the screws and I even tried running it outside of the case. I've tried everything but replacing the power supply or motherboard. I've also probably tried every set of jumper settings possible. There does seem to be a wierdness between the board's jumper table and the manual's (one says all DSW switches to OFF to Jumperfree, the other says the opposite,) but I've tried it both ways. One thing I have to check is the newest jumper settings on the ASUS page because my manual says nothing about the multiplier switches (it says AMD's processors are locked, hehe) but they are on the board of course. Any help would be nice, I'll take any advice I can get (short of checking the outlet with my tongue.)

Just thought of something, I did the pencil trick thing temporarily but I thought it might be the source of my problems so i erased it. Nothing changed. Could I have done a bad job the first time and not fully erased it? Title change...

You made need a bios update. I had the same problem on a KT7 and as of week 31 amd changed the specs on the 600's and some of the older bios's out there do not recognize them. After a new bios chip was in everything worked great up to 1G and a little past.

Good luck:D

pooey, ok I guess I'll look into that. Can I get it from the ASUS web site? (I'll check) Thanks!
