A7V : Ominous warning in BIOS: "Your card is sharing IRQ2..."

Ok, I've built this new system and now I am adding cards one at a time. When I tried to install a NIC card in PCI Slot 2, I got a BIOS prompt warning me that the card I installed is sharing IRQs with the Promise 100 controller, and I'd better press F1 to confirm that the card could share IRQs or else.

So I put the NIC card in slot 3, which has its own IRQ, and everithing is fine, but I'm still curious. It would seem that you:

- can't use slot 1 because its IRQ is shared with the AGP card,
- can't use slot 2 because it shares with the Promise controller (of course I could disable the Promise, but it would be kinda lame IMO).

This leaves slot 3, which is not sharing, and slots 4 and 5, which share between themselves, and with USB. Not much, if you have more than one PCI card.

Please note that I went through ALL the tricks to reassign IRQs with no success (at least with this mobo), and I do have free IRQs, so this's not the problem. And anyway the FAQ on the Asus site says that the Promise will always share with slot 2 whatever you do.

So, how do you find out if a card "supports IRQ sharing", expecially with the Promise ATA100 controller ? Something in that message makes me think that trial-and-eror could be a bad idea...
