My Asus A7v is not detecting my Ensoniq AudioPCI card (orignial Ensoniq, not the creative model), i tried several different pci slots, with just the card and a video card (moved both around).
No mention of this problem on the Asus site. Could it be related to the Sound Blaster problems (I use the SB drives with the card)? I don't think so because i'm not getting an irq conflict, it's just not finding anything. Any help would be apreciated, thanks.

I seem to remember that some of the earlier models of the Ensoniq AudioPCI sound cards required that you run an install program in order for Windows to pick up on the fact that it is installed. I believe that you may be able to poke around the Gateway website and find drivers that work. Be sure to check out the chipset on the card ... look for the sound chip .. probably its the 1370 ... Gateway used bazillions of these cards.

Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. But it's not really a windows problem, the A7V doesn't even detect that there is a card installed (at boot the bios reports pnp info such devices detected and the irq assigned) I'll take a look around the ensoniq site, if it still exists.

Sorry it took so long to respond, but the A7V doesn't have any ISA slots either so I cant use my old modem, so I can only get online from work...or I could put my old pentium system back together, but i'm too lazy right now.
