I just got A7V, Enermax 330w, 1ghz Tbird. For some reason, after 3 seconds, the motherboard just shuts off. I don't even see POST. Green light goes on then off after 20. I have tried it in jumperless and with jumpers mode. And I currently only have my GeForce, RAM, and HD connected to it. Whats the problem?

most atx systems power off after a few seconds the first time they are booted up after plugging in the power supply. Mine does the same thing, just hit the power button again and it should power up. this is normal by the way, I think it has something to do with the atx standard specs or something. Hope this is what you are refering to.

Hi. Mine is doing the same thing. I have a pOWERCOLOR pvk7. It went into Standby mode and it won't snap out of it! It starts but it won't boot. The HDD light flashes but the BIOS won't kick in.

If you get any info, please email me. Thanks a bunch.

Mine was dead yesterday till I reset the CMOS( I used a screwdriver to connect the 2 solder connections) then it reset to factory default.

I did that already. I jumped the pins and then restarted it. no improvement. I also unplugged the power and took the CMOS battery out for two days. Put everything back in and tried but, nothing... boo hoo

Could be the on / off switch. Can turn the computer by slipping a jumper on and off of the correct pins on the mobo (where the switch is connected)

The connector on the mobo? Do you mean the power supply plug connected to the motherboard, power? Then junping it? How? The plug is in, I can't jump it. Can you draw a pic?

I hope is not too much bother, but I am determined to fix this. I am pretty sure that it's not the mobo. I've read hundreds of forum posts here and other places, of people with the same problem. So, I'm positive it's the Standby mode being stuck. I just don't know how to fix it.

My 4 day old A7V133 w/Tbird 900 did the same thing after working fine for 36 hours. I have tried clearing the CMOS, a new battery, and jumpering the power switch pins on the board. The only thing I can get is an error code when I take the cpu out. The light is on on the board, though.
I read on the ASUS forums where a person claimed that on two of his A7V's the jumperfree Bios had upped the voltage and fried the processor. Is this even possible?
There are several posts here and on the ASUS forums with very similar problems. It makes me wonder if there was a bad batch or something...
