I have an Asus A7V, which I updated the bios with aflash.exe to the latest bios update. It completed succesfuly, but when I restarted the computer, it just beeps continuously. I held down the delete button, but nothing. I reset the CMOS, but nothing. I took out the battery and put it back in and nothing. It still just beeps on startup. Does anybody have any ideas what the problem could be? If it is the bios, how can I fix it if there is a problem with it?

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!:disgust::disgust: :confused:

What is the beeping pattern? You can find the beep codes on page 45 of your manual. Hope this helps, and good luck.

well if you can't even get to the point where you can reflash it then that means you prob don't have a bios now
you flashed it improperly
without a basic imput output system (bios) your comp is usless
the only thing you can look into is a bios hotswap with a board that has the same bios chip (could be dangerous) or ask the company to send you a new bios for a few bucks or whatever
here;s a bios hot swap howto so you can get an idea of what it is http://www.tokenasians.com/articles/bioshotswap.html
i would recommend just asking the company for a replacement bios prob like 15 bucks or something
good luck

Unplug your power supply from the wall. If you have one, put the BIOS reset jumper on reset, leave it there for 3 seconds then put it back to normal. Then try booting up.

When I flashed my A7V it would'nt even beep. I called the california number on Asus's site and they shipped me a new bios. I flashed that and it would'nt boot again, so I thought it was kinda strange. I Set it to jumper free and it fired right up. I was overclocking it, but the new bioses won't let you overclock. Try setting it to jumper free and see what happens.

How do you set it to jumper free? Is there jumpers I need to change on the motherboard or what?
Thanks!

Yes look in your manual. It might depend on the revision number of your board. I don't have my manual right now, but there should be (if I remember right) two blue little box like things (man it is late i can't remember what they are called) and you have to manipulate them, plus I think there is a setting for the voltage jumpers too.

In your manual you should see a little part about "jumper free".

btw if you are not overclocking you might already be in jumper free mode. I just thought I would mention that I had problems when over clocking mine.
