A7V can hold up to 8 IDE devices?

As far as I know, yes...It has four IDE ports...1 primary ATA66 + 1 secondary ATA66 good for two drives each..

Then it has 1 primary ATA100 and 1 secondary ATA100 good for two drives each also..

Total = 8 drives..🙂
 
If I install a HD in both primary ATA66 and ATA100 controlleres, how do I control which one to boot up from?
 
Oh, it should be controlled in the bios as to which one boots up first. Look in the manual, it should say.
