A7V ,ATA100 HD and W2K Sloooow start up

Anyone know if there's a cure for this problem? Asus suggested BIOS upgrade, but that didn't do a thing for me. New Promise W2k driver same result. It takes almost 30 seconds more than my Pro2A.
