Hi There
I have the following system :
- A7V 1.2 Bios 1005C
- Built in Promise ATA Controller Build 33
- HD IBM DLTA 307045 connected on the ATA/100 controller
I have the following error message every time I boot up the system :
"DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER"
Asus recommend upgrading the MB Bios to 1005D (which include the Promise Build 35)
Any good/bad experience with the version of bios ? What is the best/safest way to go ?
Thanks,
Remyx
Question:
When I disable boot virus detection in the A7V/A7V133 BIOS, I cannot boot into the HDD connected to the Promise® ATA100 controller. It shows an error message, "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER".
Answer:
It was found to be a problem of Promise® BIOS build 31 and build 33. Promise® BIOS build 35 combined in A7V BIOS rev. 1005D and A7V133 BIOS rev. 1002A has fixed this problem.
