In Win2k my secondary ide controller wont detect any drives. It shows up in post, but in win2k it wont show up not even in the device manager. I didnt have this problem with win98. Anyone got any ideas? Is this a known issue?

yep tried it
anymore ideas?
i have a zip drive attached and its not showing up in win2k. I know its not the controller itself because it shows up in Win98 with no problem. It must have something to do with WIn2k.

If you're talking about the Promise ATA100 controller, with windows2000 you will need to manually install the drivers for it.

Wildhagen has the answer. Its not a driver issue. The secondory IDE channel, not the channels on the promise, don't work with 1003 BIOS. They work in 1002 and 1004.
