I am running a Hercules GeForce2 Ultra and an Asus AV7 mobo and I did have one problem. The video card/motherboard would lock my computer up in 2D applications (like IE). To fix this "bug", I flashed my BIOS to version 1005A and it has totally fixed the problem.

By the way, I am very happy with my AMD based system (first one), not to mention the Ultra vid!

I running Bios version 1003 (came on my board) and I have not had any of the problems reported here with lockups, video problems or heat. I really don't want to flash my bios. Have you tried 1003?

I understand. I have not tried the 1003 BIOS. Hypersonic PC recommended I go with the 1005A BIOS, because it specifically addresses the GeForce Ultra/AV7 mobo issue. Plus, since I knew that I was going to flash, why not flash UP?

Are you planning on picking up a GeForce DDR?

I don't think you should flash, UNLESS you are having a problem.

I am currently using a Voodoo 5500 with no problems. But I have a chance to trade for an Asus Geforce 64MB DDR and wanted to make sure I wasn't making a mistake with what seems like a very good trade. Also the Voodoo 5500 is such a long card it blocks my floppy connection on the motherboard.

Stick to 1003. That's the most problem free bios I've ever came by. 1004 screwed my HDD and my life for a month and 1005a did not prove anything either.1003!!

I also think that Bios 1003 is the best. I have a Asus V7100T MX card, but I recently also got a lot of lockups in recent days. To be more precise... 5 crashes in 20 minutes :) I did fix the problem though by uninstalling the VIA ATAPI driver.

But if you use Win2k, dont use a Nvidia card with it! One of my friends had big problems with the combination, while it worked perfectly on a Voodoo5 card.

i have the 32 meg DDR geforce and have no trouble at all. just make sure you have the latest detonators and via 4 in 1 pack installed. as for the bios; i suggest you use the juggernaut 1003 bios with ultra 100 DMA bios from 1005a bios. here is the link for the juggernaut bios i have been running this bios for 1 month now with no trouble at all.
