I have an ASUS A7V rev. 1.02 and a Radeon 32 MB DDR (default). My problem is that the AGP buss is only running at 1X instead of the 4X and I know it is set in BIOS (1007). I beieve this is limiting my performance is gaming especialy. I ran UT demo and I could only get 33 FPS at 1024x768x32 with a 1.2 GHz CPU. In comparison my other system, a Duron 933 gets about 60 to 70 FPS at the same setings with the same radeon and the same latest drivers. My other system has the MSI Turbo and does run at AGP 4X. Please tell me how I can enable 4X on my A7V or do something else to improve my performance.

Thanks

Uninstall and reload the VIA 4-in-1 drivers (rel 4.32 if you have it) - load the AGP portion in turbo mode. You will then be able to set AGP to 1X 2X or 4x. I would not recommend a 4X setting for the A7V - 2X is just fine and you will notice a big difference from the 1X. Setting it to 4X does not get you much and will probably cause some instability.
