I've been playing about with this MB and the new Kingmax PC2700 RAM. When I have the whole system running at 150MHz fsb, then Sandra 2002 shows memory speed as 150MHz. If I reset fsb to 133 and set CPU/memory frequency ratio to 4:5 i.e. memory@166MHz, Sandra shows memory@133 MHz, not 166. Is this just because Sandra doesn't know about asynchronous buses like this, or is my RAM not running at 166? The Sandra memory benchmark scores slightly higher than the KT266A CL2 reference - at the moment, I'm still at CL2.5.
I've tried various combinations of settings i.e. frequency ratio = 4:5 or AUTO, similarly for memory timings, by SPD or AUTO. Doesn't seem to make a difference. Is there any other software that correctly shows memory vs. fsb speeds?
I've just looked at this review on PCPowerZone and they get a huge score with this RAM @CL2.5, so it makes me think there's something wrong with my setup. I've already checked that 4-way Interleaving is on!
