I just recieved my new corsair xms3200c2 memory last night and installed it hoping to get all sorts of good overclockin out of my system ... however I have come to realize after buying a lifetime of abit boards the first asus I buy is there bigest piece of crap...
no voltage tweaks and I can am having major problems with the memory... my generic pc2100 memory (the cheapest I could find on the net a year ago) actually performs better ...
ok let me get a few things out of the way...
I have an a7s333
wd300(bb ithink) 7200rpm
Ati 8500 64mb retail.
athlon 1800xp (don't know the a#)
SB audigy
1 corsair xms3200c2 - 512
1 generic 512 ddr dimm.
toshiba dvd
320w ps (generic but no power issues)
I only run 1 stick of memory at a time (not both together)
I tried everything at the defaults
when I tried to change the timmings on the corsair to cas2 633
the system would not boot untill I reset the bios.
I have the latest released bios. (there are only 2)
asus has basicly said they do not really support this board but will not take it back... I think they may have even oem'd it from someone else then broke off the relationship...anyway,
the only test I have been using is pcmark I have sandra but didnot run it last night...
I do not think my corsair memory is bad but is it just the motherboard reading the spd wrong or is there something else out of wack... I bought the memory from spartan...
