I have an A7Pro motherboard which is basically the same as an A7V except it has no ATA100 support. I decided to get this instead of the A7V because of all those problems surrounding that ATA100 promise controller. But now I am experiencing something just as annoying. Everytime I browse the net with IE 4 and IE 5 the computer freezes while I'm scrolling down the page or just even clicking on a button. I have no problems playing games though....just everyday browsing seems to screw up the system.
I use Win98 SE and these are the specs.
AMD 800
Asus A7Pro mb
Bios Rev. 1004C
128 noname PC133 SdRAm (bought from warehouse)
quatum sirocco 2.3gig harddrive
56k modem
Leadtek geforce2MX 32Mb Detonator 3 6.31 drivers
I've basically tried EVERYTHING. From bios settings,Optimal to normal, AGPx4 to AGPx2 formatting uninstalling/reinstalling upgrading drivers....THE LOT!!!!
Its driving me nuts everytime because I have to completely reboot (NOT even CTRL+ALT+DEL will do) Lately I have been told its because the VIA KT133 is very sensitive to the type of SDRAM im using. I'm not convinced. Should I go out and buy a decent brand of memory like CRUCIAL or is it something else thats causing this VERY annoying feature.
