A7N8X-X and Diamond V770 - Compatable?

I have an older Diamond V770 that uses the TNT2 chip, 32MB, AGP 2X/4X

It was working when I pulled it.

Do I need to adjust the BIOS settings on the mb to support this card...i.e. disable AGP 8X and reduce the AGP aperture size to 32MB (from default of 64)?

I get no signal. A Radeon 8500 works just fine (computer is for my brother who does not need anything special video wise).

Chances are the card isn't actually willing to do 4x AGP, although the chip could and the card is keyed to fit a 4x/8x slot.
That kind of card design fsckup seems to have been popular in the early days of 4x AGP. See also Kyro2.

Interesting. Let me see what AGP spec the HP it was in used....

I'll be doggone...spot on man...spot on! It was only running at 2X in the old system. Awesome! At least now I know it still works (w/o putting the old comp back together). I've got a PCI TNT2 card I can try. Thanks for the help!
