So what I'm attempting to do is have 3 hard drives in my computer. I have a 40gig & a 120gig on the Primary IDE and a DVD & Burner drive on the second IDE channel. So is it possible to have a third hard drive connected to one of my SATA ports? The third drive I'm attempting to connect to is a 40gig WD caviar. I've also tried to utilize the "Raid setup" feature on boot but it tells me that a drive wasn?t detected. So, is it possible to have 3 hard drives? (Two on IDE channel & One on SATA) Also, I don't want to have a Raid configuration or anything. I just want 3 independent drives. Thanks for any responses!

My specs (just in case)

Asus A7N8X-Deluxe 1.04 rev
XP 2400+
512 PC2700 DDR
40 G IBM Deskstar
120 G Seagate
40 G WD Caviar

Sure, I had four hdds without any raid configuration on my old ASUS A7N8X-Deluxe rig. Put two on your IDE cable like you already have, then just plug the 40gb WD SATA right into the SATA port on the mobo. No need for messing around with raid or the bios, it should be plug & play.
