A7N8X HDLED SATA connection

Cant seem to get the hard drive activity light to work on this SATA drive on an Asus A7n8X Deluxe.
Page 25 of the manual lists the IDE LED connection and i tried that of course, but this one doesnt seem to work with a SATA drive installed. (which i assume thats why its listed as IDE LED connector)

How the heck to i get HDLED to work with a SATA drive on this thing>

I have 2 Sata drives in Raid 1 and the HDLED connected to the IDE pins and it lights on my mobo. Some led's are polarity sensitive. Try reversing the connector. Also on page 19 you need to have Sata pins enabled. You show both a Sata and Pata drive in use; maybe that's the reason.

Yeah SATA ports are enabled.
Tried connector both ways, i get hdd light always on or nothing at all.
Hmmmm....

I wonder if it has anything to do with me putting his burner at master on IDE 1?
I'll try moving that to ide 2 and see what happens.

Well poop!
Found out what it was, one of the HdLed wires must be broken inside the insulation.
I jiggled the wires and sometimes it works.

Guess ive gotta do some splicing.
That sucks. :|

I had the same problem with my old A7N8X DLX. the HDD light would either always be on always be off and occasionally it would work correctly. this is with SATA of course.
