Got a question for some of you gurus out there. Interested in buying a board. I can not decide ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe and MSI K7N2 Delta2. Only thing that draws me away from ASUS is that it's performance is rated slower then other nforce2 ultra 400 boards. I dont really care for WIFI or DUAL LAN. I want quality. Just recovring from a month of horror with ABIT NF7-S2G. Which btw, is a crappy board. Has issues with it's own hardware. Sound on it sucks and causes abrupt restarts.

Anyhow, if any of you guys got recommendations, shoot them this way.

I'm a music and video guy....dont game often...

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

Why didn't you just get the real Abit board, the NF7-S v2. Not the other crap like the NF7-S2 etc.?

I will recommend the Soltek SL-75FRN2-L, it's a fantastic mobo, no frills with great performance and stability. Newegg has some still I think.

I had one for 8 months or so in my main system... could not have been happier with it. I sold it with an XP2500+, now its new owner is liking it too.

i'd get k7n2 unless youre going to use onboard RAID feature

i'm having serious problem w/ ALL nforce2 NVRAID w/ my HD..

tried 3 different manuf board.. same problem

so i'm thinking of getting asus a7n8x-e .. sigh

Just had to chime in...

I bought the A7N8X (plain, no wi-fi, no dual lan)

It seems great, IMHO. and i still have my little duron 900 on it cuz its backwards compatible with a little jumper change. when the XP 2700 gets here, thats when the real fun begins. for now i'll abuse the tough little duron. only a few more days and the new chip should be in

again, i like the A7N8X... but its mainly cuz I picked my spot in a point in time, about 6-12 months ago, when I said "this is the system i'm putting together" and it just happened to be with that board. its user friendly and reliable not to mention pretty cheap right now.
