A7N8X-E Deluxe Soundstorm: Bass sounds "dirty"...

My 8RDA+ died and I replaced it with a brand-new A7N8X-E Deluxe. Fresh install, latest drivers, no problems. I've got a set of Logitech Z5300s set up and I thought everything sounded great until last night. I was playing some trance (loud) though a pair of $50 Sony headphones when I noticed the sound was dirty and distorted, but only the lows, not the highs. I thought it was the headphones, but when I played the same track directly through the speakers I can hear the same dirty bass.

What could be my issue?

I didn't have a problem with the 8RDA+. I'm using the same version of Winamp.

Thing is, your speakers are powered while the output of your card can power small speakers. Even half can be overpowering the input of the amp causing distortion in the offending frequencies. You may also want to turn off any EQ's and effects in the software if you're using any as they add noise as well.

I understand, but the 8RDA+ sounded just fine and it used the same APU.
