I just built a new computer using an A7N8X-E Deluxe Motherboard at the advice of this kick ass site. I bought all my parts from newegg, and everything fit together and works fine. Except I cannot install windows. I have a raptor 10k 36GB hard drive connected in SATA1 on the motherboard. It shows up and is detected fine. I can mess with it in raid. All is good, but when I try to install Windows XP Pro It cant find the hard drive. I konw this is because it needs the SATA drivers, but when i put what I beleived to bet he sata drivers that were on the motherboard disc on a floppy and inserted that, XP Setup would not except it. I have tried many things so far, as in worked on it for 3 days. I need the SATA drivers that i can put on a floppy and use. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE THESE THINGS ARE. They don't seem to be on the asus site, and the ones on the disc are not working. Who has this motherboard and a SATA drive that has been successfull? Please help. (There is not any file called "makedisk.exe" on the motherboard just so u know.)

For those of u who dont want to read that, I am looking for the SATA drivers for my A7N9X-E Deluxe motherboard. Also, anandtech.com is awesome. I especially love the budget/middle computer guides.

go to nforcershq.com

pick the ASUS forum.

There are a bunch of resources there on SATA / BIOS issue. I don't use SATA, so I haven't been paying much attention to the posts that have to do with SATA anything, so I can't be a huge help, but I can at least point you in the right direction.
I believe the newest bios (1012, just came out like a week ago) has the newest SATA drivers integrated into them. 1011 and earlier had an earlier version for the SATA controller and members at nforcershq.com were downloading the ASUS BIOS and pulling it apart to add in the new SATA stuff into it for themselves or something. As I said, I haven't been paying too much attention to the SATA discussions.
