I received all my parts for my new system, I have a couple questions. I have:

antec Sonata case w/ Antec Trupower 380 PS
2100+ Tbred B OEM
A7N8X deluxe mobo
2x Crucial PC2700 256MB
ATi Radeon 8500 64MB retail
WD 100GB 8MB SE HDD
TDK veloCD 32/10/40 CD-RW
Thermalright SLK-900 HS w/ panaflo 92mm L1A 42cfm
2x panaflo 120mm L1A for case

I"m wondering how fast i might be able to push my cpu and memory for OC'ing with the fan and HS I have.

Second, does anyone have any experience with the dual LAN feature of the mobo? I have cable internet again and I'm hoping to be able to stick the cable modem on one line and my old PC on the other and share the connection.

Any help is appreciated!

Daaang, that should be a nice rig :D

Look in Windows Help for "Internet Connection Sharing" and you should have a good start on setting that up.

thanks mechBgon, I'll look at that once I get WinXP on it. The manual for the board didn't say much about how the dual LAN works. kinda just hoping to avoid buying a router or switch or whatnot (not much into netwoking end of things yet).

I haven't used ICS with WinXP, but with Win98SE, you would get the drivers installed for both NICs, hook up your internet connection to one of them, hook up the other to your other system or to a hub/switch, then run the ICS Wizard. It makes an ICS Configuration Utility floppy, you run the utility on the other PC, and that's that.

Your system will just recognize two lans. Connect the 3Com to your Cable Modem then connect your other computer to the Realtek. Then go into Network Connections, Select both Lan Devices and Bridge. That should do it...

Looks really similar to my new system....

Antec SX830 case w/ 450W Antec psu
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
Athlon XP T-Bred core 1800+ retail
2 256 MB PC3200 Corsair XMS TwinX
Asus V9280TD 128MB GF4 Ti4200 AGP 8x (currently at 300/600 w/ ramsinks)
30 GB Maxtor 7200/ATA133 2MB Cache (I just don't have the need for 100GB of hdd space!)
Watercooling system
40x cdrom/40x12x40x cdrw/Zip100/floppy

These systems scream. The highest oc possible will greatly depend on the cpu itself. Not all Athlons are extreme overclockers. Most are, hell some can really hit some high points.

Hit overclockers.com and check the "cpu database" and look for your processor. It will give a list of what cpu is hitting what scores on what motherboard with what type of cooling usually. Some of the lamers won't post anything along with their scores...but whatever.

Expect around 10k in 3DMark2k1 (maybe lower, not a Radeon follower) and god knows what in 3DMark2k3....program kills my system! Only score around 1500 in it!

thanks for the info, I'll have to scope it out when I get out of work tonight. Anything I can get in 3Dmark2k1 will be better than the 501 I got with my old Rage Fury/ K6-III 400 system. It just doesn't cut it anymore.
