A7N8X DLX - Slow Bootup - Please Read/Reply

I think I already know the answer to this, but it takes on average 10 seconds from power up until the post beep, then 20 seconds to detect the HDD's and when the OS boots, it never gets anywhere. From power on until it tries to boot to an OS it usually takes over a minute (SCSI card init too). I know these MB's are are supposed to be some of the best, but I am wondering what is going on. Would it be due to the fact that I have only one memory module? I have a sneaky suspicion that is my issue, but I wanted to run it by those that have this MB. SATA is disabled.

Thanks guys!

Asus A7N8X Deluxe v.2 (1.03 bios)
XP 2600+
512MB Mushkin enhanced PC2700 (single stick... not for long)

.

I think the board takes longer to boot up. you might want the latest bios + drivers too. But my bros 1900+ with pc2700 ram at ddr266 with tigther timings boots up much faster than my asus with a 1700+ @ 1750 and 2x256

I could understand a second or two, but since this takes well over 3 to 4 times that of my KT400 board... There's gotta be something else wrong. The bios is set for quick post. So it shouldnt take this long. The HDD dection routine shouldnt take nearly 30 seconds. It should happen in a matter of one! The way its running right now, I would think I am back to my old 386!!!!

Thanks tho!
