A7N8X Deluxe sound popping

Anybody else have a similar problem? It 'pops' once every 10-15 mins or so. I tried doing a search for similar problems, but most people sound problems are with distortion and such within a game or something... mine works perfectly except for the popping, which happens even if i'm not doing anything and am at the desktop.

I really don't want to buy another sound card, since i'm more than happy with the quality of the soundstorm... it's just the popping is starting to drive me nuts.

If newest drivers don't fix it, I'd RMA.

I have three A7N8X-E Deluxe boards, none of which exhibit popping.

Some people have reported the southbridge getting hot and causing sound problems when it does. Wouldn't hurt to stick a heatsink on there and see if that helps.

it did it on my a7n8x deluxe rev2.0, even with latest bios and drivers, never fixed it, bought a audigy2 zs when the left channel audio on it failed and i really did not want to RMA it. But yeh, it never seemed to happen in games, IRCC.
