A7N8X Deluxe - No Post w/ 3com NIC Installed

Just got my refurbished A7N8X Deluxe revision 2.0 from New Egg today.... got it installed, and discovered that the system will not post when I have my 3Com network card (3CR990) plugged in.... the system works fine without the card, but when it is plugged it the system will not post (I get no display). I have tried disabling onboard lan in the BIOS and plugging the card in different PCI slots, with no luck. Is this a known problem? Any suggestions???
Thanks!

It seems like you have tried everything. The only thing I can think of is to check your bios for pnp os. If it is pnpos=yes switch it to no or vice versa. It sounds like there is a resource conflict somewhere so that may help that.

This may be a silly question, but why are you installing a NIC card in a motherboard that already has 2 ethernet ports built in? Unless it is a gigabit card. You may want to disable the onboard ethernet ports then reinstall the 3Com NIC.

Yep, I have disabled both onboard network controllers.
And the reason I am using a PCI NIC instead of one of the onboard setups is because my NIC is a very nice one, and has a seperate processor so it puts less load on the CPU among other benefits. It's not just a cheap run-of-the-mill NIC, so I'd like to use it if possible.
