I can't get my front speakers to work at all. The front audio jack seems to be broken. How can I fix this?

i'm curious: do you mean that you have front panel audio only, or that you have front panel audio AND the rear m/b audio panels working also?
if the latter how did you do it as i would love to be able to get both working - intially i hooked up the fron audio panel on the case only to learn/find that rear dont work!
i guess an easy solution would be to disconnect your front audio panel and then use the in/outputs provided on the rear m/b audio panel [what i plan to do when i get round to opening the machine:(]

if i say something you already did/no then apologies.
the setup for this board for audio is wierd and as i understand it it is not easy to have both sets working 2gether. if you connect the front panel you end up "shorting" the original jumpererd configuration across 2 sets of pins that allow the rear audio to work.

endless scouring of the nforcers site and i only found 1 guy claiming to get it working and while i havent opened my machine to look, it all depends on how many connectors your case has for the front audio. he says:

"on the mainboard its a 10pin header
1 pin AGND [serves both mic and audio output]
3 pin mic [+5v micpower and signal input]
2 pins are "no connect"
2 pins for left channel out + return to rear jack
2 pins for right channel out and reutn to rear jack

the last 4 and AGND should go to a stereo headphone jack. this jack must have 5 solderring points with 2 inbuilt switches. the switches are closed when no headphone is jacked in and open when you use headphone.
the audio goes from audio-out pin to jack and back from the 10-pin header, then you never get any sound to the rear jack.
yes, the headphone jack cuts the rear speakers and no headphone gives audio to the rear outlet.
depends on what type of mic you have. my have 3 wires, audiosignal [to mic2], power to micpwr and analog ground [AGND]. some mics only use AGND and mic2."

so there you have it - the whole deal revolves around having enough pins on the audio pront panel to bridge the same pins the default jumpers did and how many moc cables your front audio has....

I tried disconnecting the front audio panel, and still had the same problem. I know most people couldn't get their rear audio speakers working but I think i'm the only one that couldn't get the front audio speakers working
