Being there is now a beta BIOS on the ASUS site for the A7N8X ( non deluxe ) numbered 1002.01, I am wondering what changes have been made and if there is a reason to download this and flash yet. The website is less than forthoming about what has been added or changed...

I am hoping the wanted multiplier unlock is included.. but not getting hopes up :)

Anyone?

Bout time..anything will be better than the gawdawful 1001's. I'm using 1001.E, and its working fine, but I'll be flashing it as soon as I get home.

I flash the new beta bios. (was running 1001.E before), didn't notice much difference, except a 2 degree increase in temp.. not sure what would do this?

edit: multipler did not seem to be unlocked.

Not surprised.. though theres no reason for a BIOS to raise your CPU temps ;-)

I guess we keep waiting.

If this is the version number you are asking about this is the info from the nforcersHQ.com website
1002.01aw4 - aw4 indicates for award bios with 4mbit flash rom (deluxe). FSB selection now goes to 250mhz (500mhz ddr). FSB Spread Spectrum locked at .5. "sync" renamed to "100%" in memory frequency selection menu. fixes an multiplier autodetection issue.

hope this helps
