I just finished assembling my new system as noted below. The A7N8X deluxe came with the "g" bios installed. The system posted just fine, but the bios identified my XP 2700+ as a 1300 MHz cpu. And it autoset the FSB to 100MHz despite the fact that the board was jumpered correctly for the 133-166 setting.

I manually set the bios FSB to 166 and then the system came up and set the cpu as the correct operating frequency. XP now identifies it as an Athlon 2700+. Is the "g" bios out of date or is there something more sinister going on? I have the Corsair DDR400 TWINX memory. What should the bios be telling me about the memory settings. The bios is set to "optimal".

Thanks

Yes, the "g" BIOS is known to have problems. Go up to the 1002.001 beta or down to a lower version than your current one.
