Sorry for that capitalized "PLEASE HELP!" in the subject line. I'm desperate:

I just set up three identical machines with Asus A7N266-VM Mobos, Duron 1.3Ghz, 256MB DDR 2100, WD400, and cr-rom and floppy. Everything appears to be connected properly. When I turn on the system power, I get power LEDs, all fans are running, CD-ROM opens/closes. However, the system is not POSTing. I get no beeps whatsoever and the monitor is completely blank.

If anyone has any ideas what to try I'll take anything. I just can't figure out why three diffferent boards would have the same problem? Maybe jumper settings? Anyone?!

Welcome to the Forums nexus09, hope I can help with this... one likely problem is the CPU/memory jumpers. The manual pictures them upside down on page 19. Try switching the CPU speed down to 100 and see if they start working right again. edit: I guess I could be more specific: move the caps to the front pairs of pins, this will put CPU at 100MHz bus and memory at 133MHz bus.

By the way, if you're installing Win2000 from CD, expect the video to go out for the first two or three minutes of the Setup routine. Just be patient, it should come on after Win2000 Setup gets its drivers out.

Hope that helps! :D

Thanks MechBGon.

Of course it would be something as simple as that. You were right, the manual had the jumpers pictured incorrectly; so I thought they were set properly but in fact they were not.
Once I put them in the "proper" positions all was fixed. Thanks again, and sorry for being so desperate.

Cool, glad to hear it worked out! :D I am using those boards for new computers at work... so far, they're working out great. Are you building yours for work, for friends, or ???
