About to build my system. It has the following specs:

T-Bird 1.33
ASUS A7M266
2 sticks of Crucial 256mb DDR Ram
IBM 30gb 7200rpm ATA 100 Hard Drive
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz Sound Card
External HP Cd Burner
SCSI Zip Drive running off an Adaptec 1502 SCSI adapter
Kenwood 72x CD ROM
3Com 3c905c NIC
Elsa Gladiac GeForce2 GTS
HP USB Scanner
I will be running Windows 2000

My question is this...what drivers/patches/hotfixes/etc... do I need to install for the motherboard? Do I need the Via 4 in 1 Drivers? Etc...etc?

Thanks!!!

you will need to install the 4in1's so get the latest from viatech.com but you dont want to install the agp.vxd or the miniport for win 98 that are included in the via drivers....for the agp drivers for the AMD 761 northbridge go to AMD's website and get the MS digitally signed agp drivers for what ever OS you want to install...once you boot up before you do anything install the via drivers first...then the agp driver from AMD then Dx8 then install your video card drivers and then your sound card....also do not activate or install the drivers for onboard sound..they are not included in the 4in1 they are a separate download....to totally disable the onboard sound you have to disable in the bios and also disable it using the jumper to the left of the 4th pci slot i think...check the manual....i loaded winME so not sure if there is anything special for 2k...but check out viatech.com and AMD.com to see whats up for 2k...have fun...the board is stable and fast...go to 3dchipset.com and get the new 12.01 detanator drivers for your gts...i gained 50 points in 3Dmark2001 after upgrading from 11.01...mmmm cant think of anything else..have fun
