Which would you recommend for all round use including gaming? I am thinking of an XP CPU.

Thx for any info.

Sounds like you are intent on Asus....a safe choice IMO. If you are looking at those boards, I'd wait for the A7V266-E, the one with the KT266A chipset. Performs better than both of them, but will cost a bit more b/c its the new version. Should be out in a few weeks. I think the A7V266 and the A7M266 perform about the same, the A7M used to cost a ton more b/c of the AMD 760 chipset, but I think the prices are both around $150 now. If you can't wait for the KT266A board, its kind of a toss up.

As with above, I'd go with the A7V266-E based on the new KT266A chipset.

Last time I checked the *RUMOR* mill, ETA was first week of November. You could always give one of the bigger retailers like NewEgg a call to see when they are expecting them. Also run a thread search here. There are AT forum members anxiously awaiting this board, so they are really keeping their eyes on the release date. I'm thinking within 2 weeks, but again, Asus is known to hold on a bit longer to release rock solid products.

I had to RMA 2 different 266a based boards in my quest to get a good running system. I wound up with an ASUS A7M266 re. 1.05.....no it's not as fast as the 266a but I dont need 10 more FPS for the cost of stability.
The a7m266 took right off yesterday without a hitch, both my 266a died or would not post.....There are some good 266a boards out there...I just could not find one🙁 I tried the EPOX8KH+ and the Shuttle AK31 rev 3.1.
The epox never did post and the shuttle died after posting 5 times (just wasn't meant to be🙁)

Im glad some have gotten great 266a boards but right now with the given issues, I opted for stability. and the A7M266 Rev. 1.05.
