i'm a big fan of asus products and was wondering what everyone here thought of them. i know the real difference lies in the chipsets but i dont know which is more stable etc...

It seems in reviews to be pretty stable the A7V266. For an ocer well neither. A7M has no multiplier, A7V has multiplier but only can go up to 138MHz fsb or USB kicks out.But stability wise, nothing can beat A7M's stability. It's the Stability King among AMD 760 boards.

hmmm

i was leaning towards the a7m :)

im really torn to whether i should wait for the palominos or just get a 1.4 tbird now. part of the problem is that i want my next motherboard purchase to be future expandable too (as far as that goes:)) i havent heard anyone say with conviction that there will be mobos to support the pallys when they finally debut in 4 weeks or so. i want proof dammit! i want to retire this celly and put her to pasture in the server farm that is my closet!

Well here's what I know. Some mobo's (ECS K7S5A for one) just need a BIOS update to work with Morgan and Palomino. Anand stated in his Morgan review that he just had to get a BIOS update. here states shows many MSI boards that support Palomino. I don't know about A7V266 or A7M. E-mail them and ask. It is a good bet that A7V at least will. I'd really say that the only thing that you could gain by waiting is to see if the 1.5 Paly is worth it, but seriously it should be much more expensive compared to current 1.4 T-Bird prices so I think you would be safe to go with the 1.4 T-Bird but if u can wait to see how 1.5 Paly performs.
