I just recreated my Seti account and installed BOINC on my desktop and notebook. My desktop is a P4 3.4Ghz with 2GB DDR400 in dual channel mode. My laptop is an Athlon 64 Clawhammer 3200 with 1GB DDR333 in single channel mode.

The A64 seems to be crunching number roughly 2x as fast as the P4, despite having a 1400Mhz slower clock speed. Almost wish I had an A64 X2 in my desktop.

Both are running 32-bit Windows XP Pro

Edit - I suspect the A64 machine would crunch even faster if it was running WinXP 64. Couldn't find drivers for all its integrated hardware.

AMD's FPU has been more powerful than Intel's since the Athlon came out.

They learned their lesson with the K6.
