Is this normal? Before I threw it in I checked its a week 50 '04... I will post a screenshot on my website in a sec... Is this normal?

looks like yeilds are getting better and better. With SS (whenever they pull thier finger out) 3 Ghz will be easy.

MMmmmmmm Voltage..... Yes.... I love voltage... It's all good. I've got good air cooling =0 Hehhehe The worste thing that happens is that it shortens the life span of my CPU. I don't plan on having it over a year so thats fine. If it dies. I swap it out for a new one. Oh well.... 2.8Ghz failed on prime, I am double checking 2.75 on prime right now as we text.

Ohh yeah, forgot to mention my temps at 2.75 1.65 voltage is 131F or 55C. Bummer, thats too hot for my RAM. My case doesn't ventilate well, SUPER quiet though. LOL I will probably just run it at 2.66 for 266Mhz FSB and 533Mhz DDR for my RAM

What if it shortens the life to 6 months? The Winchester hasn't been around long enough to see how it holds up to 16% voltage increases. Sudden Northwood Death Syndrome could come back as Sudden Winchester Death Syndrome.

OCing voids the warranty of the processor. However, AMD can't really tell if you're OCing or not unless you have burn marks on the chip or something. But yeah, using RMA because you ran the product out of spec is a no-no.

With an attitude like that, I wouldn't expect any more help here...

Well come on... you make it clear that you realize you could damage your CPU. Then you make it clear that you'll RMA it even though you intentionally voided the warranty. Then you call other forum members "hypocritacle" nerds. As far as I'm concerned you can rot...

With the Exception so far of MrCodeDude, and Jeff... You guys know what I mean... The geeks that just sit on the forums and start talking all kinds of poo on people whenever they can just to make themselves feel better. Jeff and Mrcode.dude you guys are just giving helpful advice thats cool. I mean the ones that just try to put everyone down because they were abused as children and what not. I am sure I could drudge up a few names if I just searched the forums for about 5 minutes.

With proper cooling, and care you can overclock your CPU without damaging it. 2750 is for experimentation purposes only. I normally run it at 2.66 and never tried to go higher because at 1.5 volts it would run 100% stable and only be 115F under load, which is only about 10F over what it is at stock in my system.

Any who.... Thanks for the advice guys, I am gonna get outa here and go play some CS:Source on my other server.... =P Have a good weekend and try not to get burnt!!

Mike
