Any Ideas on how I can get this to clamp down? FOr some reason I cant get both sides to clip on. I cant get the side with the lever to get on the bracket.

Good!

I do have to say it is by far one of the easiest HSF installtions though, (maybe trickey to some ;P )

I'm glad AMD improved over Socket A! That would be just downright scary for some people..

Cracked cores and such, Especially on some older Tbirds as well..

Actually I pressing down like crazy trying to get the clamp to get down on my A64 installation. I've had a Socket A before, and I was totally oblivious to how easy they had made it.

Mobo's always have a bios installed, no exception. Check everything. Btw, Socket A was pretty okay, just watch what you're doing.. :p
Socket 754/939, easy..

as long as you have a flathead screwdriver socket a is very simple. except that stupid little bracket can get stuck sometimes, how are you a golden member? dont some mobos have a little squarish socket thing with a little black thing that looks like the storage things on ram stuck in them? http://mouse.latercera.cl/2003/taller/04/24/bios-chip.gif

edit- could i install a whole new bios chip so i could change voltage on my current motherboard without having to buy a new abit with softmenu ill only use for a year while i await X2 prices to drop

Now that I got the CPU in and the Ram in the purple slots like my mobo manual says to do, when I turn it on, the screen says that no BIOS is installed.

Ok so the computer boots to Gigabit ethernet controller v1.01 and it tries to do something. It looks and shows the MAC address then says DHCP and is searching for something or other. Then it says No boot filename exists and then says that no PDE-ROM exists
