I'm trying to figure out between the Nforce3 250GB and Via K8T800 Pro chipsets.
Not sure which is the better of the two.

If anyone has some information or recommendations on mobos that would be greatly appreciated.
It's for an A64 3000+.

Thanks in advance.

The K8T800 Pro is also excellent though, and I won't hesitate to buy one if it is something like $50 cheaper than a equivalent NF3 250 board.

Ok so between the following boards, which would be the better decision?

MSI K8N Neo Platinum
DFI LanParty UT NF3 250GB
ASUS K8N-E Deluxe
Chaintech ZNF3-250
Gigabyte GA-K8NSNXP
Epox 8KDA3+

I've pretty much dropped out every other board I've come across.
And unfortunately ABit doesn't have an NF3 chipset yet.

(For the Via K8T800 Pro my choice was the ABit KV8 Pro - 3rd Eye)

VIA's K8T800 chipset is better for A64. If you're going XP get an nforce, but for 64 get VIA. Its also proven thats it has faster performance than the nforce3 chip.

There are two generations of nVidia chipsets for AMD64. nForce3-150 and nForce3-250.
Looking at performance and flexibility features. K8T800 is better than nForce3-150, but nForce3-250 is a whole new deal, and probably the best A64 chipset currently.

Though there is also a 'budget' alternative from SIS, SIS755, that probably wasn't intended to be budget, and I have heard nothing but good about it sofar.

Theres also a K8T800 PRO........

I have had zero problems with my K8T800 ( Asus K8V Deluxe ) and this machine flies.

But if I was buying today, I would probably recommend a nForce3-250 board
